Day
5 - Morning Sunrise
Sunday 21st September
 Woke
up at 3.50am for a 4.30am pick up. Is this supposed to be a relaxing
honeymoon???
Caught a bus to the Tablelands where we were met by 3 humungous
hot air balloons. They were so massive, it was scary. We
climbed into the basket and set off for a calming ballooning experience
over the farmlands of Cairns.
We've never seen the tops
of trees from
that angle
and we even saw a few kangaroos hopping on the grass. It
was breathtaking.
After landing we took a bus ride to the BUSH and had a
true blue Aussie breakfast. We then rode the bull and saw
horses and pony's and a lot of old mechanical gear.
9.30am we left the bush to Kuranda, a tourist area filled with gift
shops and stores and where we bought our pasalubong. Ehly even tried
playing the digereedoo! I told him not to quit his day job.
After all
that shopping, we caught the scenic Skyrail through the rainforest where
we saw ferns and plants and birds. 3.30pm left for the apartment. A
relaxing day.
